Nagpur : Manyu's death tells an untold story of health care..

A 26-year-old doctor of the Indira Gandhi Government Medical College (IGGMC) in Nagpur allegedly committed suicide in his hostel room on Friday, police said.
Dr Manyu Kumar Vaidya, a Bengaluru resident who was in the first-year of his MD course in gynaecology, allegedly hanged himself in his room in the early hours of the day, a Tehsil police station official said that the incident came to light at around 9am. We have not found any suicide note. He made some phone calls before committing suicide. We are probing the incident," he added.

The suicide of Dr Manyu Kumar Vaidhya at Mayo hospital comes as a shock to everyone and brings to here ab untold crisis that highlights the need of medical attention to doctors.

Question is that who will save saviours..?? 

Many Resident doctors comes with a dream at government hospitals, are no doubt depressed, boozing heavily popping stress relieving pills and still remain frustrated.
Even the idea of counselling of doctors has been proposed to the authorities at government hospitals several times, but nothing came out of that.
A doctor opened that atleast a senior doctor should take responsibility and counsel the junior interns on stress management.
It may be noted that Mayo eight seats in O&G branch. Currently only three students have been able to get admission in the first year with remaining seats still vacant. This is because HC had put stay on Maratha reservation.
Hence, Manyu was the only boy among the two girls presently .
It may be noted that Manyu was a boy, who came far from his State. The language was not known to him, people were different, and he got one of the busiest branch in the medical field.
Residents said that he was a introvert guy.
" From past a few days he was disturbed. Even at his ward he was not very attentive." Said a doctor on the condition of anonymity.
The workload a resident faces at government hospital during their residency period is high because O&G is one of the most occupied and over loaded department.
